I’m back at it. Writing another book on Fujifilm cameras. This time, it’s the X-H2s.
I have yet to decide whether to release as an Expert’s Rolling Release as I’ve done in the past for early adopters, or to brave it out to the end and release a fully finished work. Let me know your thoughts in the comment box on the left.
As you might imagine, turning out 700 plus pages on a camera and camera system like this, is a very deep dive down the rabbit hole. Deciding what to include is a challenge. The book could easily be longer.
The X-H2s is a great camera to shoot with. It challenges us to find subjects to shoot as we win our way forward through a strange milieu of truth and fiction.
I have posted a video on the X-H2s. You can see my youtube channel at www.youtube.com/c/TonyPhillipsPhoto
Here I talk about Fujifilm killing off one of their camera Super Powers in the X-H2s!
What’s in a Book?
Ever wondered what goes into the making of a book like mine?
A lot of time and patience. Careful checking, testing etc.
I’ve had the camera since before release – working with it solidly since.
.
Work Station. The whole desk surface raises for sit/stand
.
I buy all necessary equipment. Gone are the days companies lend cameras for the time it takes to produce a work like this.
This year, has been particularly hard. Like many, I was ill at the beginning of the year. And that inactivity led to developing a DVT. Normally, I am quite active. You must pay attention to that kind of thing when you are at a desk for long periods. I walk the hills with my large German Shepherd.
Imagine what it takes to capture the photos you see within the pages of my books. Lots of activity – across a wide diversity of photography.
As I get closer to the end of a book, I get quite fidgety. I want to be done and dusted, but I’m in one of the most detailed phases of writing – ensuring all the tiny details are accurate, and everything comes together.
I hope you are enjoying your X-H2s. And, if you will, support me in some way through a referral, or some other way.
I wish you well in your photographic pursuits.
Best,
Tony

Hey, I’m enjoying the H2s. There’s a lot to learn so I’m looking forward to your book. I took over 2,000 photos on a Viking cruise around the British Isles last month. The camera was flawless. Operator was not. I forgot about the OI on/off switch on the 18-55. None of my other lenses have one. So I sold it! Happy with the 16-55 and 70-300. And mostly happy with the 16-80. Tried the 18-120 and found ithe power zoom to be very awkward for my style of hand-holding, so it went back. Considering the Tamron 17-70.. Video is great.
All the best,
